EU and Youth Programs

Our university is in cooperation with the programs of the EU Commission aiming to utilize and develop the present educational potentials, for the mutual recognition of the countries.

 

1. LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM (LLP)

The general purpose of this program is to update the societies in to more advanced and intelligent ones. Also it is aimed to create more and high quality job opportunities, to maintain social unity, to ensure the environment to be protected for the next generations, especially to provide a quality reference in the world.

A) Erasmus

Aim of this program is to increase the quality of higher education in Europe and to strengthen its European magnitude. Accordingly, cooperation between the universities of different countries are encouraged, providing the mutual shifting of the students and academicians in Europe, so supporting the recognition of the studies and degrees achieved in Europe academically, by supoorting the improvement of transparency.

Within the scope of this program, 88 students has gone abroad for education, 90 students for summer practices by Erasmus; where 26 students has come to Gazi University during 2011-2012 Academic year.

18 academicians have gone abroad for lecturing, while 9 people went for education. By the year 2012, Gazi University owns 285 Erasmus Mutual Agreements which are valid for the countries that are currently members of European Union.

A) Campus Europae (CAE)

This program considers the shifting of students in the undergraduate and graduate educations. Its principal purpose is to let students experience the unity within the variety of Europe during their education. Also it aims to unite the scientific and academic proficiencies with international employment and European identity.

European Union Programs provide the students to continue their undergraduate or graduate education at two different universities, two different countries in two different languages.

Program consists of 8 different areas. These are, teacher education, medical sciences, natural sciences, law, engineering, business administration, social sciences and foreign languages.

B) Comenius

This program generally aims the improvement of educational quality and the European magnitude. It supports the studies which develop the cooperations between countries and contribute the professional abilities of the staff who work in school education. It also supports the learning and extensification of European languages and studies that provide dialogues between cultures.

C) Leonardo da Vinci

With this program, it is aimed to improve the quality of professional education by the cooperation of all institutions that exist actively in educational and professional areas. The program results in a more efficient work power and an increase in competition power of the European industry.

 

2. YOUTH PROGRAM

This program enables young people to attend various activities nationally or internationally and to prepare their projects there. As a result, young people will experience their innovative spirit by getting to know different cultures, gaining information, abilities and proficiency. Youngster can apply to these projects in groups or together with non-profit or state organizations.

Students who wish to receive education, do summer practice or attend cultural programs or activities should select the appropriate program for them which are listed above and apply to foreign Affairs Office (for Erasmus and Campus Europae) or EU Project Office (for other programs).
